Why us?

          Why chess with CKC?

1. Promotes critical thinking and problem-solving skills: Chess requires strategic thinking, forward planning, and decision-making skills. By participating in a chess program, individuals in the community can improve their cognitive abilities and develop critical thinking skills.

2. Fosters social interaction and community engagement: Chess is a social game that can bring people together and create a sense of community. A chess program can provide a platform for individuals in the community to connect with one another, build relationships, and engage in friendly competition.

3. Encourages intellectual development: Chess has been shown to enhance academic performance, particularly in areas such as math, reading, and problem-solving. By offering a chess program in the community, individuals, especially children and young adults, can improve their academic skills and intellectual development.

4. Provides a safe and positive recreational activity: A chess program can offer a safe and positive recreational outlet for individuals in the community, particularly youth. By participating in chess, individuals can engage in a mentally stimulating activity that promotes healthy competition and can help to reduce stress and anxiety.

5. Promotes diversity and inclusivity: Chess is a game that transcends cultural and socioeconomic boundaries. By offering a chess program in the community, individuals from diverse backgrounds can come together to learn and play the game, promoting inclusivity and diversity within the community.

6. Teaches valuable life skills: Chess teaches important life skills such as patience, perseverance, and sportsmanship. By participating in a chess program, individuals in the community can develop these skills and apply them to other areas of their lives, such as school, work, and personal relationships.
